Reports on the Engagement of Current and New SMEs, Including Consulting and Biopharma-Funded Collaborations

This activity summarizes the activities carried out by Working Group 4 (Exploitation and Industrial Translation) to strengthen collaboration between academic researchers and industry stakeholders. The Action has engaged
extensively with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), consultancy partners, and biopharmaceutical companies, fostering technology transfer and precompetitive innovation within the NRF2 research field.

A central component of this engagement has been the organization of Industry Showcase Meetings held in Athens and Rome, where BenBedPhar members presented laboratory services, biotechnological platforms, and potential areas
for collaboration. These events brought together academic laboratories, SMEs, and industrial representatives to discuss applications of NRF2 modulation in diagnostics, pharmacology, and preclinical development. The showcases
successfully stimulated new contacts with consulting and biopharma partners and facilitated dialogue for funded collaboration opportunities.

The accompanying presentations

illustrate the diversity of expertise available within the Action and highlight laboratory capacities in molecular screening, bioassay development, and computational modeling.

Overall, this deliverable reflects BenBedPhar’s commitment to bridging academia and industry, promoting innovation ecosystems around NRF2- targeted therapeutics, and ensuring the long-term translational impact of the network’s scientific outcomes.
